Nancy Powers
Senior Vice President Business Integration & Support
It is no wonder that Nancy Powers works for United Way of Massachusetts Bay (UWMB). Born, bread and educated in the community, Boston is in her bones. Her dedication to the area is evident in her professional resume and in her pride for her family's continued support as a pillar of the South Boston community.
Nancy brings her dedication, efficiency and competitive spirit to our team. As Senior Vice President of Business Integration & Support, Nancy is responsible for ensuring that UWMB meets its scope and profitability goals through scaleable, cost effective processes that position the organization for future growth. She serves as a standing member of UWMB's Senior Management Team and as a staff representative for the Administration & Finance and Technology Advisory Board Committees.
Nancy's philosophy is, "People. Process.Technology. In that order." Nancy thrives on excelling at her job because she believes that when her job is done well, every employee is provided with the resources to work to their optimum capacity.
She most enjoys the challenges her job presents-and she delivers. Nancy has successfully executed two Headquarters relocations. Additionally, she transformed the pledge process into a shared service delivery model that yielded $350,000 recurring cost savings, a 40% increase in accuracy levels, and an 83% reduction in the cycle time required to perform pledge processing activities.
Before joining UWMB in 1994, Nancy honed her skills for the Mayor's Office of Capital Planning of the City of Boston as well as at the Public Facilities Department of the City of Boston.
Nancy earned both her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Business Administration from Suffolk University. She is also a graduate of the Leadership Institute of Continuing Executive Education Program at Boston University.
Always on the move, Nancy is an avid player of team sports and enjoys skiing at Loon Mountain with her husband John and their two young daughters Jacqueline and Elizabeth.
